The time of this C3 final against Marseille in 1999 is long gone. This 3-0 success with a disproportionate squad for the UEFA Cup (Buffon, Thuram, Cannavaro, Veron, Crespo) which made Parma, already winner of the he event four years earlier and the defunct C2 in 1993, one of the strongholds of European football. Weighed down by numerous economic problems, the club from northern Italy for a time lowered its ambitions… until going bankrupt and falling to Serie D in 2015.
