Great Performances from Young Judokas at Fourchambault’s ASF Judo Tournament

Fourchambault. Great performances from the young judokas. Last weekend was busy for ASF Judo. Indeed, all categories fought at the Maison des Sports in Nevers.

On Saturday, the Lion Tournament took place for pre-chicks, chicks and youngest children. The beginners in these different categories fought on the ground and brought back excellent results to the club with nine first places out of seventeen participants.

A second phase of the tournament pitted twelve mixed teams, chicks and juniors, including two from the Fourchambaultaise section of Omnisports chaired by Jean-Claude Bonnot. One of the two teams finished second in the tournament, losing to Dojo Nivernais in the final. A great performance praised, as it should be, while all the judokas showed clear progress.

On Sunday, the Yonne/Nièvre bi-departmental championship took place for cadets and juniors. The club was represented by five judokas. The youngest, Laurine Poussin, qualifies for the regional phase. In the junior category, Lilian Marand finished 2nd in less than 73 kg and also qualified for the regional phase. With a little less success, Gabriel Oukidja, Ylies Ali and Thélyan Chougny represented the local colors.

ASF Judo finished 6th club in Nièvre in terms of results this Sunday. An excellent result for a structure which, in terms of licensees, is only in eighth place in the department. Results considered very encouraging and which reassure the ASF Judo volunteers in their efforts for the section.

Volunteers who will be present for gift wrapping at the Nevers/Marzy Decathlon, Saturday December 16, with the aim of helping to finance future competitions.
