Golf Professional Matthias Schwab Narrowly Misses Top Ten at DP World Tour Tournament in South Africa, Eyes PGA Tour Qualifying School in Florida

Golf professional Matthias Schwab narrowly missed out on the top ten at the DP World Tour tournament in Malelane, South Africa.

After the fourth round was canceled on Sunday due to a storm, the Styrian completed his last four holes on Monday, achieving three birdies and thus gaining a few places.

With a total of 280 strokes (8 under par), the newly qualified 29-year-old landed in eleventh place at the 1.5 million euro Alfred Dunhill Championship.

Schwab received a “Christmas bonus” of almost 26,000 euros. Local hero Louis Oosthuizen (18 under par) took home the victory, including a prize money check of 255,000 euros.

Next stop: Florida

Schwab now continues in Florida, where he will take part in the PGA Tour Qualifying School in Ponte Vedra Beach from Thursday.

The goal there is a top 5 place, which would automatically mean the full tour card. Rohrmooser lost this after a mixed year in 2023.
