The training was conducted on this day to protect the rights and interests of athletes and prevent human rights violations in sports, such as verbal abuse and violence that may occur during training, and about 30 coaches and athletes from three workplace sports departments, badminton, women’s basketball, and track and field, attended. We invited expert instructor Jeong Hee-taek from the Sports Ethics Center to provide education on human rights violations in sports, sexual violence cases, and countermeasures through various audio-visual materials.

Lee Sang-jin, head of the Sports Industry Department, said, “I hope that this training will improve sports human rights at the Gimcheon City Hall Workplace Sports Department and provide an opportunity for athletes to focus solely on sports in a better environment.”

Meanwhile, the Gimcheon City Hall Workplace Sports Department has participated and achieved excellent results in various competitions, including winning a bronze medal in the men’s badminton team event at the Hangzhou Asian Games, winning the badminton women’s team event at the 104th National Sports Festival, a bronze medal in women’s basketball, and a bronze medal in the 5,000m track and field track, thereby contributing to the sports status of Gimcheon City. We are taking the lead in promoting the city.
