Referring to the possible use of Tchouaméni in the center of defense, Ancelotti made an amusing gaffe by confusing the midfielder’s name with that of his compatriot Camavinga. The technician actually said “Tchouaméninga” before putting his hands on his head for the gaffe and continuing: “Tchouameni doesn’t like playing as a central defender just as Camavinga doesn’t like playing as a lateral defender“.

Carlo later added: “He is very good as a central defender and he knows it. He understood that in case of emergency he could play in that role for one or two games. Then, Tchouaméni’s future at Real Madrid is as a midfielder and we all know it“. In any case, despite trusting the Frenchman, the coach made it clear that he hoped for a new addition in the January session also considering the absence of Military: “We have spoken with the company, we will evaluate in the next few days, we have time. The January transfer window only ends on the 31st, we will look for the best possible solution. For now we are in no hurry. Let’s finish the year well and then we will have time to make the best decision possible“.
