Fuegian Rocío Ledesma Represents Argentina at IBSA Judo Grand Prix in Tokyo

Yesterday the IBSA Judo Grand Prix ended in Tokyo, the capital of Japan. The contest is reserved for blind or visually impaired athletes, and the Argentine team of this discipline was present there, part of the Argentine Federation of Sports for the Blind (FADeC).

BIG RIVER.- Once again, Fuegian Rocío Ledesma (in J1, up to 48 kilos) stepped onto the tatami, who last November was a starter at the ParaPan American Games in Santiago, Chile, where she won the silver medal, her best performance, after the bronze in Toronto 2015, and fifth place in Lima 2019.

In the Japanese event, the judoka who emerged from the Municipal Judo School of this city finished in fifth place, after losing by ippon (at the close of the four regulation minutes) her fight against the Brazilian Rosicleide de Andrade, also her executioner in trans-Andean soil. The remaining bronze went to Anna Müller (Germany) over Suvd-Erdene Togtokhbayar (Mongolia) (wazari at 0:30, and ippon at 0:52), while Khaiitkhon Khusan Kyzy (Kyrgyzstan) won the gold , by defeating the Japanese Shizuka Hangai (there was wazari for both at 3:30 and 3:40, respectively; and ippon for her, at 0:14 of the golden point).
