Inspired and encouraged by her mother, Mahboubeh started judo at the age of 15. She rose quickly and competed in numerous competitions in Iran before finally being accepted into the Iranian national team. When she had no other choice in 2018, she sought asylum in Germany with her daughter.
Mahboubeh’s commitment to sports extends beyond judo: she also does bodybuilding, swimming and running. She has a third dan black belt in judo and works as a referee and trainer in this sport. As a single mother, refugee and woman, Mahboubeh hopes to inspire others to pursue their goals. Mahboubeh’s daughter remains her greatest source of motivation.
