SARONNO – The Saronno horse archery team, which trains in Francesina, continues to bring passion and results to the field. After the trips to Barcelona, Pomaz in Hungary, Rocca Sinibalda and Alfiano Natta, the Saronno archers could not miss the event organized at the Altipiani di Arcinazzo equestrian centre. And so the team presented itself with nine athletes at the most important event of the competitive season at a national level. The race was full of emotions and the Francesina athletes, under the guidance of Frédérik Durand, won four national titles in as many specialties in which they participated: senior gallop, junior gallop, senior trot and junior trot. The galloping category included two tests.

The Tower 90 which consists of a gallop race, on a 90 meter long track to be covered in less than 18 seconds, with the riders busy shooting as many arrows as possible towards a triptych of targets positioned on a tower. Raid 233 which consists of a gallop race, on a 90 meter long track to be covered in less than 14 seconds, with the riders committed to shooting an arrow with maximum precision at each of the 2 or 3 targets, positioned at different angles.

Silvia Fagioli, riding Pilar, confirmed herself as the Italian horseback archery champion, this time in the senior gallop category, overtaking the reigning champion Maddalena Crocetti; completing the podium was Alessandro De Santis, another promising athlete from Francesina.

Silvia Fagioli sealed the title of national champion, achieving the best overall scores in both the Tower 90 and Raid 233 specialties. Giacomo Grego, also on Pilar, achieved the highest step in the junior gallop category, improving the second place obtained in the 2022, behind Silvia. Sara Insinnamo, already the 2022 Italian trotting champion, made her debut in the junior gallop race, finishing in fourth place in the category rankings. Matilde Legnani and Giorgia Colombo, competing in the junior trotting category, won first and second place respectively, with the same score; Giorgia was crowned Italian champion thanks to the highest number of 5-point hits.

In the senior trotting category, the three Francesina archers occupied the entire podium, thanks to the good performances of Elisa Altavilla, 2023 Italian champion, Luisa Sottile and Saul Contardi, all having their first experience in a competition of this level.
