This appointment caused a reaction from Patrick Roux, president of Artémis Sport and former European judo champion (in -60 kg in 1987), an association which fights against violence in sport, not only in judo. Rougé had in fact presented himself at his hearing before the parliamentary commission of inquiry devoted to the dysfunctions of the Federations, on October 19, without really having prepared the subject. “I didn’t know the subject at all, I thought we were going to talk about the governance of the Federations,” he said during his first speech.
