Former Australian Open Champion Caroline Wozniacki Given Wildcard for 2022 Tournament

Former tournament winner Caroline Wozniacki receives a wildcard for the Australian Open in January in Melbourne. The organizers announced this on Wednesday. The Dane, who won the tournament in 2018 and returned to the tour last year after a long break to have a baby, is currently number 242 in the world.

“Melbourne is one of my favorite cities in the world and I can’t wait to share it with my family and children,” said Wozniacki. The 33-year-old celebrated her comeback in August after a break of over three years and the birth of her children Olivia (2) and James (1). The former world number one made it to the round of 16 at the US Open in New York.
