Football: France, England, Saudi Arabia… All the opening dates of the 2024 winter transfer window

A market of correction, adjustment and opportunities, the winter transfer window has existed since 1997. The 2024 edition is supposed to allow clubs to make their purchases and complete their squad at their discretion. An opportunity very often seized by training courses most in difficulty, or dissatisfied with their summer purchases. For many teams, it will therefore be a question of rectifying the situation after a first part of the season far from the objectives set before the start of the exercise. In France, we are thinking in particular of John Textor’s Lyon.

Depending on the championships, the opening and closing dates of the transfer market vary. In France, as in England and Germany, the transfer window period will extend from January 1 to February 1. It will begin 24 hours later in Italy and Spain and end on the same date. Only Portugal will only be able to start its transfer window on January 3 and will close it on February 2. The Saudi market promises to be, once again, rather eventful. It will run from January 1 to 30, 2024.

Some clubs like PSG, leader of L1, have already started to activate even before its opening. The French champion is preparing to validate the arrivals of two Brazilians, Corinthians midfielder Gabriel Moscardo (18 years old) and Sao Paulo defender Lucas Beraldo (20 years old). In terms of departures, Hugo Ekitike and Layvin Kurzawa are invited to leave the club this winter.

From January 1, all players at the end of their contract in the summer of 2024 will also be free to discuss and engage with the club of their choice. In addition to Kylian Mbappé (Paris), Wissam Ben Yedder (Monaco), Olivier Giroud (AC Milan), Adrien Rabiot (Juventus) and even Luka Modric and Toni Kroos (Réal Madrid) also appear in this category. Very good deals to be had.
