Football: FC Barcelona star Alexia Putellas will undergo arthroscopy

The pain doesn’t go away. Spanish football star Alexia Putellas will once again be on the billiard table for her left knee. It was his club FC Barcelona which announced it this Tuesday on the social network X, formerly Twitter. An arthroscopy is planned for Wednesday, December 27 in Catalonia.

The Barcelona striker has not been seen on the pitch since November 14 and the Champions League match against Benfica (5-0). A relapse located on the same knee as the one operated on in 2022 after a rupture of the cruciate ligaments, which caused him to miss the Euro with La Roja.

The 29-year-old dreams of winning the Paris Olympics with the selection this year. Elected Women’s Ballon d’Or in 2021 and 2022, she also won the Women’s Champions League in 2021 and 2023 with Barcelona and was crowned world champion with Spain at the end of August in Sydney.
