Food Not Bombs is a global volunteer movement that distributes free vegan meals in protest against war and poverty. Each chapter collects excess food that would otherwise go to waste from grocery stores, bakeries, markets, and occasionally dumpsters when stores do not cooperate, as well as donations from local farmers, and then prepares community meals that are served free to anyone who is hungry. Each chapter is independent and autonomous and makes decisions by consensus.
