EThe comrades of the Wimpassing volunteer fire department had to cope with an adventurous and unusual mission the previous week: According to information from attentive residents, a bat had probably been in the stairwell of a residential building in Karl Renner Gasse for several days.
Since the animal was visibly getting weaker and could no longer find its way out, help was asked. Together with an employee from Bat Rescue Austria, we finally managed to free the animal after an hour and hand it over to the experts. The bat is now being nurtured.
