FFBB Appeals Chamber Renders Decision on Sanction of Limougeaud Club

The Appeals Chamber of the Basketball Federation (FFBB) rendered its decision after the appeal of the Limougeaud club sanctioned with a withdrawal of three victories in the ranking and a fine of 15,000 euros by the financial policeman of the League national basketball team due to a “deterioration of its accounts”.

In a press release, the FFBB indicates that: “Following the hearing of the parties at the headquarters of the FFBB, the Chamber of Appeal decided to reform the decision of the Superior Management Council. It pronounces against the Limoges CSP a withdrawal of two victories in the ranking of the Betclic Elite French Championship for the 2023/2024 season and a fine of €10,000. The club has the possibility of contesting this decision with the Administrative Court. Prior to this referral, an appeal is mandatory to the French National Olympic and Sports Committee (CNOSF), within fifteen days in accordance with article R. 141-15 of the Sports Code.

The club’s management reacted in a press release:The Limoges CSP took note of the decision pronounced by the FFBB Appeals Chamber to reduce the sanction to two withdrawn victories and a fine of €10,000. The club is now awaiting notification of the decision as well as the motivation retained to consider referral to the CNOSF“.

After this decision of the FFBB Appeals Chamber, Limoges CSP moves back to 14th place with a victory ahead of Blois first relegation.
