A quiet Christmas is guaranteed: FC Bayern presents its fans with a win against VfL Wolfsburg. The Bayern stars in the individual review.

Munich – FC Bayern can do both: After the gala performance against VfB Stuttgart, the Tuchel team followed it up with a victory against VfL Wolfsburg (you can read the game in the ticker). Harry Kane scored a dream goal after Jamal Musiala gave the record champions the lead with a header.

The youngster also set an impressive record. Which Bayern stars were the most convincing in the Volkswagen Arena? The tz-Individual criticism.

Manuel Neuer

He couldn’t do much when he conceded the goal and therefore scolded the people in front of him. Otherwise he was there when he was needed (4th, 58th). Note: 3

Konrad Laimer

From the start, he tried hard to put a lot of pressure forward. Defended too passively when conceding a goal and was overall less aggressive than usual in the duels. Note: 3

Dayot Upamecano

Initiated the 1-0 and 2-0 with a great deep pass. Also otherwise strong in game structure. Defensively impeccable, showed a top performance. Note: 2

Minjae Kim

Had the chance to score in the second game in a row right at the start (5th) – but was too surprised with his header. Otherwise strong in the duels again, but not as dominant as last time. Note: 3

Alphonso Davies

As always, tried to use his speed to sprint into the depths. But he rarely got through and provided little impetus for progress. Saved several times at the back after Wolfsburg’s switching actions. Note: 3

Aleksandar Pavlovic

Almost set up Kim’s next goal with a set piece in the early stages. Got an early yellow card (20th) to stop a Wolfsburg counterattack. Afterwards, he seemed inhibited in the duels and was unable to build on his gala performance from the game against Stuttgart. Note: 3

Raphael Guerreiro

Should have taken the lead in the first half, but missed from the backcourt (27′). Had problems fitting into the combinations and stood out due to his insecurities. Otherwise remained largely pale. Not a good performance on the double six. Note: 4

Leroy Sané

Was an asset on the right side and constantly rotated positions in the attack. Caused danger several times through strong individual actions (27th, 32nd) and posed problems for the VfL defense. At the end of the game he lacked concentration on the last pass. Note: 2

Jamal Musiala

Showed unexpected qualities when he prevailed in the aerial duel at 1-0 and took the lead. Afterwards, he repeatedly showed off his top class in dribbling and marched through the Wolfsburg defense. Best man on offense. Note: 2

Thomas Müller

I wanted to show directly why FC Bayern extended his contract. Could have scored twice to take the lead (27th, 32nd), but was unlucky in the end, especially when he hit the crossbar. Prepared both goals and livened up the offensive game with clever passes and running routes. Note: 2

Harry Kane

Crowned his incredible first half of the season with a dream goal to make it 2-0 just before half-time. He often let himself fall and provided transition moments as a passer from deep. Note: 2 (eng/epp)
