Bad news for Robert Lewandowski (35)!
According to Spanish newspaper Sport, FC Barcelona bosses want to talk to the Polish striker about his salary for next season. Lewandowski, like some other stars, should forego part of his salary.
The superstar (contract until 2026) is actually expected to earn the highest salary with the Catalans next season. But since the club continues to have problems with the salary cap (270 million euros in the current season), they are now taking Lewandowski’s money.

In his first season 2022/23 his net salary should amount to ten million euros, in the second season it will rise to 13 million euros and in the 2024/2025 season it will rise to 16 million euros per year. In a possible fourth year, the salary should then be reduced again to ten million euros.
According to “Sport”, the bosses are optimistic that the ex-Bayern star (2014 to 2022) will accept the salary cuts. His agent Pini Zahavi (80) was in Barcelona just a few days ago and made it clear that the Pole will not be moving now or in the summer.
After moving from Bayern to FC Barcelona in the summer of 2022, the striker led the Catalans to the championship in his first season with 23 goals in 34 league games. However, the goal machine (eight league goals) is currently lagging behind expectations.
