On Friday, January 5, at 6:30 p.m., “University of Latvia” and “Ventspils” will play in the “Rimi” Olympic Center. Two games are scheduled for the next day – at 5 p.m. in the “Ogre” Sports Arena, “Ogre” and “Liepāja” will play, and at 6 p.m., the match between “Rīgas Zeļliai” and “Valmiera Glass”/”Vidzemes Augstskola” will start in the “Daugava Sports Hall”.
The return matches are scheduled for two weeks later.
In the semi-finals, the three winners of the quarter-finals will be joined by “VEF Rīga”, which is starting in the FIBA Champions League, and will fight with the winner of the pair of “Ventspils” and LU.
Last season, “VEF Rīga” won the Latvian Cup for the second time in a row, beating “Liepāja” 87:66 in the final.
The Latvian Cup competition for men’s teams resumed in 2021 after a 27-year break.
