The Eredivisie match between Excelsior and Go Ahead Eagles ended 1-1 on Saturday due to two special goalscorers. Jamal Amofa scored his first goal in professional football on behalf of the away team and Oscar Uddenäs kept his average high for Excelsior.
After a 0-0 halftime score in the Van Donge & De Roo Stadium, Amofa opened the score in the 54th minute. The 25-year-old defender of Go Ahead, who played his 87th game in professional football, shot in from close range. Amofa was overjoyed with his first goal. He shouted with joy and put the ball under his shirt as a sign that he was going to be a father.
Uddenäs equalized in the 83rd minute, a minute after coming on as a substitute at Excelsior. He headed in a cross from Siebe Horemans.
It was the 21-year-old Swede’s third goal attempt this Eredivisie season and also the third time he scored. Uddenäs was previously accurate against Fortuna Sittard and NEC.

El Yaakoubi’s goal disallowed
Excelsior will be most disappointed by the draw, because the Rotterdam team was close to winning in the final phase. Shortly after the 1-1, Excelsior striker Redouan El Yaakoubi scored, but the goal did not count because he had committed a foul.
In the final phase, El Yaakoubi was close to the winning goal again, but the crossbar saved Go Ahead. In the 24th minute, Jakob Breum hit the post on behalf of Go Ahead.
Due to the draw, Excelsior and Go Ahead maintained their positions in the rankings. Go Ahead remains sixth and Excelsior twelfth.
