The Füchse Berlin handball players also won their last group game in the European League. On Tuesday evening, the Bundesliga team with a B-Elf won in front of 3,922 spectators in the Max-Schmeling-Halle against the winless Bosnian representatives HC Izvidac with 34:23 (16:15). The best Berlin thrower was Tim Freihöfer with six goals. Winning the group and progressing were already certain.

Due to the insignificance of the game, coach Jaron Siewert did without the recently heavily loaded quintet of Mathias Gidsel, Lasse Andersson, Mijajlo Marsenic, Dejan Milodsavljev and Hans Lindberg. But keeper Viktor Kireev celebrated his comeback after an injury break. The majority of the squad consisted of players from cooperation partner 1. VfL Potsdam and the second team.

Furious start, then lesson learned

The Berlin B team got off to a furious start and quickly took a 5-1 lead. But the young and inexperienced team then paid some lessons. The Foxes conceded a 0:5 run and the game remained balanced until halftime.

But that changed after the break. Then the Foxes got serious and went on a 9-0 run. It took the visitors over nine minutes to score their first goal of the second half. The hosts then easily brought home the victory. The main group phase starts in the new year.
