Last Saturday morning, the body of French mountain runner Esteban Olivero was found dead in the Écrins massif, in the High Alps. A rescue operation was mounted, but bad weather conditions made it impossible for helicopters to be present. and only the rescuers were able to act, until on Saturday morning they were able to find the lifeless body of the young man.
On the descent
“He had reached the top of La Blanche and was chained by the point of Celse Nière. It was during the descent that he suffered a fatal fall,” explained Guiraud, from CRS Alpes-Briançon, specialized in mountain rescue. Olivero had recently won several events on the sky running circuit, including the Skyrunner World Series in Hohkönig (Austria).
