Emil Audero Mulyadi: The Indonesian Born Goalkeeper’s Debut with Inter Milan

Lisbon – Indonesian-born goalkeeper, Emil Audero Mulyadi finally made his debut with Inter Milan. This player who was born in Mataram appeared as a starter when Inter Milan faced hosts Benfica in the Champions League Group D preliminary match at the Estadio Da Luz, Thursday morning WIB, 30 November 2023.

Audero’s goal was broken three times through Joao Mario’s hat trick in the 5th, 13th and 34th minutes.

Extraordinarily, Inter was able to comeback. La Benemata equalized 3-3 through goals from Marko Arnautovic (51′), Davide Frattesi (58′) and Alexis Sanchez’s penalty (72′).

Born in Mataram, Indonesia on January 18 1997, Emil Audero has an Indonesian father named Edy Mulyadi. Meanwhile, his mother is an Italian citizen named Antonella Audero.

Audero and his family moved to Cumiana, Italy in 1998. At the age of 11, Audero joined the Juventus Primavera team, in 2008 to be precise.

Along with Rubinho’s departure in 2016, Audero became Juventus’ third goalkeeper in the 2016/17 season after Gianluigi Buffon and Neto.

Emil Audero finally made his professional debut with Juventus on May 27 2017, in the final match of the 2016/17 season against Bologna in Serie A. The Bianconeri won 2-1.

In the 2017/18 season, Juve loaned Audero to Venezia. The following season, he was loaned to Sampdoria.

On 26 February 2019, Sampdoria made Audero permanent. He became a mainstay in goal for Sampdoria with a total of 169 appearances. Audero joined Inter Milan on 10 August 2023 on loan and with a purchase option.

Had Become a Naturalization Target for the Indonesian National Team

Emil Audero appeared in various age groups with the Italian national team from U-15 to U-21. However, he was never called up to the senior Italian national team.

PSSI had made Audero a target for naturalization. However, this was ultimately canceled because Audero never provided confirmation.
