For the fans of the Untouchables Paderborn and Munich-Haar Disciples there are already a few days before Christmas the first surprises.

The U’s have secured one of the top pitchers from the North for the 2024 season. Roldan Ochoa played for the Dohren Wild Farmers for the past two years. In the 2023 playoffs semi-finals, the eventual German champions from Heidenheim failed twice (games 2 and 4) against the Venezuelan native. Ochoa secured the win in both duels. It was only after five games that the Heideköpfe were able to redeem their ticket for the semi-finals. On the 14th matchday of the regular season, the RHP received the Player of the Week award from the Bundesliga editorial team after a complete game shutout against the U’s.

With Ochoa, Paderborn has signed a starting pitcher who already has several international stations on his resume, including Northeastern State University (Oklahoma). In Europe, Ochoa previously played successfully in Austria, the Czech Republic and Italy.

The Disciples announced their first new signing for the coming season on Thursday. C/OF Jake MacDonald is no stranger to the Bundesliga. In 2020-21, the Canadian-born player with an Italian passport played for the Solingen Alligators. After his involvement in the Bundesliga, MacDonald was active in other top European leagues in the following years – in 2022 in the Czech Extraliga for the Eagles Praha and in 2023 in France Division 1 for the Sénart Templiers.
