Dirk Kuyt to Take Over as Beerschot Coach After Departure of Andreas Wieland

Last week, it was with great astonishment that we learned that the Beerschot coach, although co-leader of the Challenger Pro League with Zulte Waregem, had decided to pack his bags and leave the Antwerp club. Indeed, Andreas Wieland should very soon sign a contract with LASK.

To replace him, the club management did not choose just anyone. According to our colleagues from Nieuwsblad and HLN, it is Dirk Kuyt, legendary former Liverpool striker, who will take the reins of the team.

He who played just under 300 matches with Liverpool no longer needs to be introduced. Having played for Utrecht, Feyenoord and Fenerbahçe, he also shone with the Dutch selection, especially in 2010 during the World Cup final lost against Spain.

Dirk Kuyt was free from any club since he only managed the ADO Den Haag club for a few months. He started coaching in 2017 with the Quickboys U19s before joining Feyenoord.
