Paolo Di Canio talks about his Premier League goals

Beautiful, easy, difficult, ugly, spectacular, even insignificant, if not for those who made them. Paolo Di Canioin the Christmas episode of the Di Canio Premier Special entitled ‘WonderGoals. Haaland and the others‘, he tells some of them, selecting with great difficulty among the hundreds deserving of appearing: there are overhead kicks, shots from far away, shots from midfield and beyond, ball-and-chain slaloms, magical touches. Well-known goals by well-known people, but also goals perhaps forgotten because they were not decisive or scored by players who did not leave a lasting mark, such as Reconciliation Kasamiwho is now at Sampdoria but very young, in Fulham, on 21 October 2013 he put behind Julian Speronithe Crystal Palace goalkeeper, a phenomenal right-footed shot, after an acrobatic chest check on the run.

Analysis, technique and talent

Di Canio also describes these goals from his point of view technicianof the difficulty of execution, of the moment in which they were marked: and his analyses it serves to dispel myths, to clarify game situations and to make viewing easier, which in itself would be enough, due to the beauty of some of the performances. The conclusion that can be drawn is that any top-level player can score a great goal, but doing so repeatedly, and in different ways as in the case of Wayne Rooney, indicates a talent special, a special vision of the game. And never mind if the most spectacular goal of the former Everton and Manchester United striker’s career wasn’t as perfect as people think.
