Despite Trae Young’s Heroics, Atlanta Hawks Fall to Miami

Despite a sixth game in a row with at least 30 points and 10 assists from Trae Young, Atlanta fell to Miami. The Hawks lost 122-113 to last year’s runner-up.

Author of 30 points and 13 assists, Trae Young became the second player in history to achieve such a series with Oscar Robertson. The man nicknamed Big O had accomplished such a feat in the jersey of the Cincinnati Royals for the first time in January 1964 before bringing the record for this series to seven matches the following season. Trae Young therefore has a sort of appointment with history this Saturday when he comes to Memphis.

The man of the match, however, was Duncan Robinson. He, in fact, scored 21 of his 27 points in the final quarter to give Miami the victory. Clint Capela, for his part, delivered the goods with his 10 rebounds and 8 points. The Genevan was the only player to present a positive differential – + 6 – in the ranks of the Hawks who found themselves under the bar after this sixteenth defeat. Now eleventh in the Eastern Conference, Atlanta is going through a complicated first part of the season despite the exploits of Trae Young.
