Despite Cade Cunningham’s 43-Point Career Record, Pistons Suffer 24th Straight Defeat on the Hawks Floor

NBA – Despite Cade Cunningham’s career record (43 points), the Pistons suffered a 24th straight defeat on the Hawks floor.

October 28. This is the date of the Pistons’ last victory, and it was against the Bulls. Since then, Monty Williams’ players have suffered a string of defeats, and last night, they suffered a 24th setback in a row! Despite Cade Cunningham’s 43 points, Detroit lost 130-124 against the Hawks, and we quickly understood that they were going to have a complicated evening when Trae Young and his team started the match with a 5 out of 5 to 3- points!

After four minutes, the Hawks lead 15-6, and it is not the activity of Cade Cunningham or the vision of the game of Bojan Bogdanovic that is enough to limit the damage. After twelve minutes, the gap is already made (38-25), and Trae Young continues the alley-oops with Onyeka Okongwu. On the Detroit side, Marvin Bagley gets on the level of Cade Cunningham, and that limits the damage at the break (61-52).

Trae Young, the teacher

Returning from the locker room, CCade unningham continues its festival, whether it is sending Ausar Thompson to the alley-oop, dunking, then covering Clint Capela. The former No. 1 in the Draft is everywhere, and the Pistons remain in contact despite the new 3-point heat from the Hawks (74-67). But Trae Young takes control of the match, and he delights his teammates to make it 11-2 in two minutes. The Pistons are on the ropes again (85-69).

Bojan Bogdanovic doesn’t give up, and his two 3-pointers in a row reignite the suspense. So much so that the Pistons came back to -6 with 90 seconds remaining thanks to James Wiseman. The hold up is possible… Except that this same Wiseman misses two free throws, and Trae Young gives his team some breathing room. And when Cade Cunningham reduced the gap to -5, Bojan Bogdanovic lost a ball behind, and the Hawks finally won 130-124.

WHAT YOU MUST REMEMBER

– The record is approaching… And 24 for the Pistons, who “improve” their franchise record with this new setback. Monty Williams’ men are getting closer to the NBA record, held in one season by the Cavaliers (2010/11) and the Sixers (2013/14) with 26 defeats in a row. Detroit receives Utah then goes to Brooklyn.

– 3-pointers at the best time. The Hawks finished this game with 16 of 36 from 3-point range, but they were skillful at the best moments. In the first quarter with a 5 out of 5 to start the match, and a 9 out of 12 over the entire first quarter. Then in the 4th quarter with a 7 out of 16 from distance. At each close, Trae Young, Dejounte Murray and De’Andre Hunter found the target.

– Pistons throws. Detroit lost by six points, but let eight free throws slip away… James Wiseman’s 0 out of 2 hurt in the last minute when the feat was still possible.
