Desio Basket City: An Afternoon Filled with Basketball Excitement

It will be an afternoon “full” of basketball today at the PalaFitLine (the PalaDesio) for what is the second seasonal edition of Desio Basket City, the initiative launched by Pallacanestro Aurora Desio to bring together as many fans as possible and which will feature at least three moments . It starts at 2pm with Pulcini Day, a sort of Brianza concentration of microbasketball teams (years from 2017 to 2020). In addition to Aurora there will be Apl, Forti e Liberi Monza, Sanfru Monza, Minibasket Cantù, Eagles Brugherio and Basket Costa. Afterwards, at 5pm, we get to the heart of the women’s A2 series match between the Foxes of Giussano and San Giorgio Mantova.

The grand finale at 8.30pm with the National Serie B match between Rimadesio and Fulgor Omegna. You will be able to attend the A2 Women’s and B Men’s matches with a single ticket (10 euros) which can be purchased at the ticket offices. Gallazzi’s team arrives at the match against the Piedmontese a little out of breath and with two very serious absences. The long-term patient Carlo Fumagalli (who however could join the group at the beginning of the week, obviously at narrow gauge) is joined by that of captain Mazzoleni who misses the third race in a row. Recovery times still to be evaluated. Basically, half the quintet is out. After the excellent start, the bluarancio have lost four of the last five matches and Omegna is perhaps the strongest opponent in this last remnant of 2023. They have only two points more in the standings than the Brianza, but are coming off four victories row despite having lost an element of the caliber of Chinellato who signed in the last few hours for Avellino. But the length of the roster available to coach Ducarello has so far been able to overcome this defection in a big way. “We face an opponent with confidence, perhaps the best in form at the moment. She has many arrows in her bow and I’m thinking of the low post game of the big men starting with Balanzoni, but also of the three-point shot where she has percentages that are close to 40% He also combines physicality with talent and shooting precision” says coach Gallazzi who will have to find the right defensive chemistry to slow down a Fulgor team which has scored an impressive 88 points in three of the last four victories.
