Department of Sports in Villena Approves Subsidies for Sports Entities for 2022-2023 Campaign

The distribution of the final amount is established based on variables such as the number of federated tokens, federation and material expenses, as well as the promotion of women’s sports.

Villena, December 28.- The Department of Sports has approved subsidies to sports entities in Villena for the 2022-2023 campaign that benefits 19 clubs from different disciplines that will receive a total of 100,000 euros, as explained to councilor Maite Gandía. These aid are established to cover part of the expenses for the season between August 2022 and July 2023, which includes travel, material expenses, federation and personnel costs, among other items.

This means that the clubs with more federated athletes receive a larger amount, up to completing the maximum amount allocated by the Department and set at 100,000 euros.

Maite Gandía considers that “this aid is important for many clubs, which in many cases are sports considered minority and that require special help for their maintenance.” For the councilor, the sporting level of Villena is “very high, with clubs in the main sports disciplines and with a high female participation, although in this matter there is always much to do.” In her opinion, this subsidy helps the clubs operate and continue promoting sports, especially among the youngest.

The resolution was recently signed by the mayor of Villena, Fulgencio Cerdán, and the payment will be made in the coming weeks, once the entire justification and inspection process by the municipal Intervention service has been completed.

The entities subsidized in this edition of aid to sports clubs are the Club Atletismo Villena, Club Bádminton Villena, Baloncesto V74, Círculo Agrícola Mercantil Villenense, Centro Excursionista Villena, Fair Play, Club Frontenis Villena, Villena Fútbol Sala, Club Gimnasia Rítmica, Villena Swimming Club, Villena Skating Club, Sporting Villena, Villena Orientation Club, Trail Villena, Villena Bike Team, Villena CF, Stargym Sports Club, Aviana, and Tesoro de Villena Triathlon Club.
