According to measurements by the AGF, which also determines the values ​​for the classic TV channels, 1.118 million fans aged 3 and over watched the Bundesliga top game Bayer Leverkusen against Borussia Dortmund (1:1) on DAZN on December 3rd.

There were also figures for the Champions League: on November 29th, 706,000 watched the conference broadcast. The Bayern game against FC Copenhagen was watched by 897,000 people. These are numbers that are comparable to Sky ratings for top Bundesliga games.

And: The DAZN ratings would be even higher because the measurement is not yet complete. So-called co-viewings will only be measured on internet devices from the first quarter of 2024. This means that so far only the number of devices that are switched on has been determined, but not how many people are sitting in front of them. According to estimates, the number of spectators can be increased to 1.4. Then Leverkusen against Dortmund would be over 1.5 million.

DAZN has been measuring ratings since the end of November in order to make it transparent how many viewers are actually watching. This makes the platform the first major streaming provider to make these values ​​public. These are not yet available on Netflix, Amazon Prime Video and Co.

The difficulty is that you not only have to measure the linear TV channels – DAZN 1 and 2 – but also all other uses: via the app on your smartphone or tablet, via SmartTV on the television, via the website on the computer and via Set top boxes. Therefore, the final figures are currently only available eight days after the broadcast.
