He Crystal Sports Club and Deportivo La Coruña veterans will join together in a new charity match in favor of Economic Cuisine. The meeting is scheduled for next Saturday, December 30, in the fields of San Pedro Visma, west of the Herculean city.
“For a triumph against hunger” is the message under which the eleventh of these events is organized, and the first after the Covid-19 pandemic, which forced them to be postponed for several years.
“The goal is to raise food or funds to buy it. Gather everything you can to help people who need it,” highlighted Manuel Ares López, president of Deportivo Cristal. “We’ve accomplished great things in the past,” he added.
The manager also explained to Diario de Arteixo that this year’s edition “will be much simpler, a single match, and it is possible that it will be with an 8-a-side football format. We are going to simplify it so that the people who attend will have an easy time,” he pointed out.
Ares López has organized these charitable initiatives with Deportivo Cristal since 2012 and has clear ideas regarding the cause he supports. “Football also serves as a social tool to help people and not remain with the image that it is just business, money, interests, television, figure, it is something more.”
Historical Depor players, like Donato, have participated in previous versions, and for this occasion surprises are expected, according to the president.
