MEXICO CITY, July 11 (EL UNIVERSAL).- The National Commission of Physical Culture and Sports (Conade) expressed its position when the Mexican Archery Federation was accused of disappearing, the organization explained that it did not dissolve it, it only disaffiliated it. .
Conade pointed out that the federation’s registration as a National Sports Association was revoked on July 6. There cannot be a dissolution since, being a Civil Association, it complies with its own statutes, so the only ones who have the power to dissolve it are its associates.
The organization detailed why it made the decision to revoke, pointing out the irregularities within the Mexican Archery Federation.
First, because after an internal audit in 2015, irregularities were detected by the presidents of the Archery, Athletics and Baseball federations, this in the resources granted in 2013 and 2014.
For 2016, the Archery Federation was fined 9 million 467 thousand 356.89 pesos, this figure was determined because it is the amount that the organization did not verify.
This situation led Conade to file a complaint with the Attorney General’s Office against the president of the Archery Federation, Effy Didier Sánchez Pérez, who was accused of the crime of embezzlement and was arrested at the time. and transferred to the north prison.
After six years of trial, a judge determined that she is guilty, ruling two years in prison, a 300-day fine, and she will also have to repair the damage to Conade and her political and civil rights were suspended.
As a consequence, on December 5, 2022, Conade received notification from the International World Archery Federation where they explained that they were unaware and were deregistering the Mexican Shooting Federation due to the mismanagement of the then president. This decision was ratified last December 2 February and this month a Transition Committee was created, as well as an Operation Committee for Archery.
This entire situation was what forced Conade to revoke the registration as a National Sports Association of the Mexican Archery Federation.
