Cleveland. Sam Merrill set career highs with 27 points and eight 3-pointers, Caris LeVert scored 23 points and the depleted Cleveland Cavaliers defeated the Utah Jazz 124-116. Merrill hit three 3-pointers during a 17-2 run to start the fourth quarter. Cleveland thus took its largest lead, 109-95. In his fourth year as a professional, Merrill had set the best numbers of his career, with 19 points and five 3-pointers on Monday, in an overtime victory over Houston. Sam, a four-time All-Star, averaged 27.7 points and spent his first five seasons with Utah before being traded.
