Christophe Galtier definitively acquitted after the Nice prosecutor’s announcement not to appeal

Christophe Galtier is definitely out of the woods. Eight days after the acquittal of the former Parisian, the public prosecutor, who had nevertheless requested a one-year suspended prison sentence and a fine of 45,000 euros against him, announced to Nice-Matin that he would not appeal the decision.

The Al-Duhail SC coach was prosecuted for accusations of harassment and discrimination when he was on the bench at OGC Nice (2021-2022). The court found that neither of the two offenses was serious. “This decision by the prosecution not to appeal the acquittal definitively closes this case and confirms the slanderous nature of the accusations made against Christophe Galtier who is definitively rehabilitated”, reacted Messrs Olivier Martin and Sébastien Schapira, lawyers for the coach of 57 years. When asked, OGC Nice did not wish to react.
