Some kids throw a firecracker and the big red Christmas ball in Piazza Cavalli catches fire. The events happened this afternoon. First the roar, then the flames that began to envelop the red ball positioned in the shadow of the Gothic palace.
The traders present on site immediately intervened with fire extinguishers to put out the fire: the damage is still clearly visible but at least the prompt intervention of those present prevented the worst. The local police are also on site and will now try to trace those responsible. According to some witnesses it was a stunt carried out by some kids.
