Chinese car brands request to settle in the Metropolitan Zone – El Sol de México

The Government of Mexico City received a request from 40 brands from China in the automotive sector that – under the concept of nearshoring – wish to establish themselves in the metropolitan area of ​​the capital with the states of Mexico and Hidalgo and investments that could reach 12 billion pesos in the next three to five years.

This was highlighted by Fadlala Akabani Hneide, head of the Secretariat of Economic Development (Sedeco) of Mexico City, when accompanying the inauguration of the China HomeLife Expo at Expo Santa Fe.

For her part, Katy Xu, representative of MeOrient and the China HomeLife fair, said that most of the 700 companies represented at said fair are also looking to set up a representative office in Mexico to market their products and expand their businesses, some could even enter as well. under the concept of nearshoring or relocation.

For his part, the capital official reported that Chinese assembly companies and companies related to this industry interested in setting up in Mexico are requesting information on 600 hectares of land that they would require to install warehouses, industrial warehouses and plants to assemble automobiles.

“I cannot say the names for commercial reasons but there is already firm interest from Chinese automobile assembly companies that want to establish themselves specifically in the central area of ​​our country.”

He said that there are 40 companies and each one has arrived at Sedeco with a member of the Chinese government and one from the region to which said company belongs.

“That is why we have already formed an automotive Cluster in Mexico City, the State of Mexico and the State of Hidalgo so that these Chinese assembly companies have all the conditions so that they decide to invest in the central region of our country”

The China HomeLife fair is the largest specialized in Chinese products and components that is held in different countries around the world.

Katy Xu highlighted that among these companies interested in Mexico are in the electronics and household appliances category: Foshan IF2 Electronic Technology Co.,Ltd; Foshan Shunde Lepuda Motor Co. LTD; Shenzhen ORICO Technologies Co.,Ltd and; Zhejiang Tianxi Kitchen Appliance Co.,Ltd.
