Cerro and Plaza Colonia, already relegated, tied 1-1 at the Tróccoli

Cerro and Plaza Colonia tied 1-1 at the Tróccoli stadium for the penultimate date of the Clausura tournament. Mariano Peralta Bauer opened the scoring in the first half and Christian Ebere, with a penalty, equalized it in the second half.

Albiceleste will have to wait for the last stage to define its permanence in the first division because Patablanca, already relegated, spoiled the party.

After the first minutes in which they had control of the ball, the home team found the opening, through their first dangerous play at 12 minutes. Cristhian Tizón went over the left and threw a past cross that Lucas Rodríguez controlled, who quickly enabled Mariano Peralta Bauer, who, located in the heart of the area, took care of pushing the ball.

Damián Santín’s team insisted again at 18′, when Dylan Nandín left a defender in the way, went one-on-one with Kevin Dawson and finished just wide.

Patablanca, already relegated, were imprecise with the ball, which is why they decided to use the long delivery as a resource. Sebastián Díaz’s men could not find a connection between their midfielders and forwards.

The first time that the visiting team managed to jump lines and go deep was in the 26th minute. Valentín Amoroso was assisted by Yacouba Meité and had his chance, but scored at the hands of Darío Denis.

The visit began to grow in the game thanks to the speed of Christian Ebere, who, whenever he appeared, was a concern for the rival defense. At 30′, Lucas Carrizo tried from outside the area with a wide shot.

When 37 minutes had passed, Cerro was very close to extending the lead. Dylan Nandín faced the ball, created the space and lost it, but Peralta Bauer appeared to cross and beat Dawson, although, on the line, Nicolás Ayala prevented the goal.

About 53 minutes into the match, Plaza Colonia, which had taken the initiative, found a penalty for a handball by Dylan Nandín inside the area that the main judge Diego Riveiro took immediately and, later, it was confirmed at the request of the video arbitration. Christian Ebere, through a good definition, took care of inflating the nets.

Díaz’s men, at their highest moment and after the rival’s lowest moment, continued searching. In the 64th minute, Luciano Cosentino stepped into the area and took a shot that goalkeeper Denis blocked.

After several minutes in which he was outmatched, Cerro came back in the 75th minute. José Luis Tancredi enabled Peralta Bauer, who demanded Dawson and he responded well.

At the end, the locals pushed with more enthusiasm than football, but they did not find the agonizing 2-1 to celebrate continuing in the A. In any case, the draw was the most fair regarding the procedure.

In the last stage, Cerro will visit Racing at Parque Roberto and, for its part, Plaza Colonia will host Boston River at 9 a.m. on Thursday at Parque Prandi.
