Canadian Quarterback Nathan Rourke Returns to Active Roster for Jacksonville Jaguars Amid Quarterback Injuries

Canadian quarterback Nathan Rourke is returning to the active roster of the Jacksonville Jaguars, according to information from Farhan Lalji of TSN.

The Jaguars reportedly signed Rourke to place him on the team’s active roster on Saturday, ahead of their Week 14 matchup against the Browns (7-5) on Sunday in Cleveland.

The Jaguars, who sit in first place in the AFC South with an 8-4 record, have questions at quarterback for this week’s game, as starter Trevor Lawrence is questionable after suffered a sprained ankle.

Lawrence, 24, was injured in Monday’s overtime loss to the Cincinnati Bengals. His case is uncertain for the match against the Browns, it will be a last minute decision which will determine whether Lawrence will play or not.

His replacement CJ Beathard, 30, should take over if Lawrence is absent. However, the latter suffers from an injury to his left shoulder (but throws from the right).

Rourke, 25, signed with the Jaguars this offseason after a standout year with the BC Lions in the CFL. He made an appearance on the team’s active roster in October, but was reassigned to the practice squad shortly thereafter.
