“Increase the number of strokes.” This is Bayern coach Tuchel’s announcement for the final spurt in 2023. Things should get off to a successful start against Union Berlin – with more staff again.

After the dull zero against FC Copenhagen, coach Thomas Tuchel at FC Bayern Munich announced a year-end report with only victories as his goal before the Bundesliga home game against 1. FC Union Berlin.

“We have to increase the number of shots and the tempo and go a step further. We want to win all the games,” said Tuchel about the remaining four games in the league and the conclusion of the group phase of the Champions League at Manchester United.

Against Berlin, who have not won in 16 competitive games, national player Leroy Sané will return to the Munich starting lineup on Saturday (3:30 p.m./Sky). Tuchel announced that defender Minjae Kim could also play again after a bruised hip and a break in the 0-0 draw against Copenhagen.

The recently struck attacker Eric Maxim Choupo-Moting and defender Noussair Mazraoui also received the green light from the medical department. National player Jamal Musiala is back after a torn muscle fiber. The 20-year-old’s comeback will be “limited to a maximum of a short stint,” said the Munich coach.

When preparing for the game, Tuchel focuses more on his own team because he cannot yet accurately assess Union after just one game under new coach Nenad Bjelica. “Union changed the basic order under him. I don’t know if that’s permanent. Normally they always played with a chain of five. Now it was a 4-1-4-1,” said Tuchel about the findings of Berlin’s 1-1 draw the Champions League at Sporting Braga.
