FSV Mainz 05 continues to rely on coach Jan Siewert in the Bundesliga relegation battle and has given the 41-year-old a contract until 2026. After Bo Svensson’s resignation, Siewert took over the position at the beginning of November after previously coaching Mainz’s U23s. In the past few weeks, many professionals have already spoken out in favor of further collaboration with Siewert.
After the contract extension, Siewert spoke of staying in the league as a shared task. “I am sure that with the quality of the team, our team spirit and solidarity with our fans and in the club, we will be able to cope with this task,” said Siewert.
