Buffalo Bills Triumph Over Kansas City Chiefs with 20-17 Victory

The Buffalo Bills countered the comeback of the Kansas City Chiefs and triumphed 20-17 on Sunday.

A huge blunder in the last 90 seconds cost the Chiefs the match, who believed they had made a spectacular play to take the lead and give themselves an option for victory. Travis Kelce caught Patrick Mahomes’ pass, then relayed a lateral pass to Kadarius Toney who scampered into the end zone. The problem? A penalty was called on the play because during the throw-in, Toney had one foot in the neutral zone. They were subsequently unable to atone for this mistake.

The Bills (7-6) resisted and remained in the playoff race, second in the AFC East division, behind the Miami Dolphins. The Chiefs (8-5) remain in first place in the West despite a second defeat in a row.

In the victory, Josh Allen became the first quarterback in team history to have four consecutive seasons with at least 25 touchdown passes. He is also the third player ever to have 25 passing touchdowns and 10 rushing touchdowns in a single campaign, after Cam Newton and Kyler Murray.

The Bills led 14-5 at halftime.

James Cook was a prime target and the running back caught Josh Allen’s opening 25-yard touchdown pass in the first quarter.

Tyler Rush then ran 6 yards to score the other major at the end of a long sequence of 12 plays and 73 yards, in the second quarter, and lead 14-0.

KC had a difficult first half. Patrick Mahomes saw one of his passes deflected at the line of scrimmage before being collected by an opposing player, AJ Epenesa, at the very start of the game. The Chiefs then had to punt on the next three possessions.

Jerick McKinnon finally woke up his troops by scoring a running touchdown before the break. He made Allen pay, who had just been intercepted by Chamarri Conner.

A Rashee Rice touchdown evened the score at 17-17, the result of a 23rd turnover caused by the Chiefs, who are fourth best in the league in this regard, tied with the Washington Commanders. Harrison Butker followed up with a 27-yard field goal.

Tyler Bass broke the deadlock with his second field goal of the game, from 39 yards.

Purdy shows the Niners the way

The San Francisco 49ers defeated the Seattle Seahawks by a score of 28-16 to sign a fifth consecutive victory and reach the plateau of 10 wins this season.

Deebo Samuel was a real offensive threat with 149 yards of aerial gains as well as two touchdowns, including one on the ground. Christian McCaffrey also did well with 145 yards rushing, but he didn’t score a touchdown. This is only the second time this season that CMC has not scored a major.

Jordan Mason and George Kittle had the other 49ers touchdowns. Brock Purdy had a good outing with 19 completions for 368 yards and two touchdown passes.

The 49ers scored a touchdown in each of the four quarters. After Mason opened the scoring in the first quarter, the Seahawks took a 10-7 lead thanks to a 31-yard DK Metcalf touchdown run and a Jason Myers field goal.

San Francisco, however, put itself back in the driver’s seat with two straight touchdowns, courtesy of Samuel on each occasion.

Seattle closed the gap on a 25-yard touchdown pass from Drew Lock to Colby Parkinson, but Kittle confirmed the Niners’ victory late in the game with a 44-yard touchdown.

Lock completed 22 passes for 269 yards and threw two touchdown passes and two interceptions.

The 49ers will look to continue their recent success on Sunday against the Arizona Cardinals, while the Seahawks will face the Philadelphia Eagles in the Monday night game.
