BSL de Mont-Joli Faces Tough Weekend with Two Defeats

We expected a difficult weekend for the Bois BSL de Mont-Joli and this was the case with defeats of 6-3 at Causapscal and 5-4 at Rivière-au-Renard.

On the other hand, the Mont-Jolie team was not easy prey, despite its reduced numbers. Quite the contrary, because both times, it was spectacular comebacks from the opponent in the third period that made the difference.

“Basically, we played a good first 100 minutes, 50 per game. Friday we led 3-1 and Saturday 4-1. Both times, everything started to go wrong. This evening (Saturday), however, I am a little shocked. I think the referees missed an offside call on the third goal and we received a double minor following an unintentional collision at the end of the third period. On the other hand, I’m not saying that it’s because of the referees that we lost,” summarized Francis Tremblay.

On Friday, his team saw Bar Laser de Causapscal score five consecutive goals in the last eleven minutes of play of the third period to overcome a two-goal deficit (1-3) in a 6-3 victory. Xavier Dionne, Simon Leblanc and Justin Levasseur have the visitors’ goals. Ludovic Lefrançois (2), Patrick Tremblay (2), Olivier Gallant and Félix Saindon scored for the winners.

The next day, the BSL led 2-0 after two periods before seeing the Corsaires de Forillon bounce back with five goals in a 5-4 win. Alexis Lévesque, Sammy Côté, Samuel Bourque and Mathieu Loisel have the visitors’ goals. Loisel also has two assists.

Mathieu Fraser kept the goals on Friday, except for three minutes when Olivier Gauthier came in relief. It was the latter who was in front of the net in Gaspé.

“I brought out two negative points, but at the same time, there was fatigue. We made mental mistakes. Individually, I am very satisfied with the two young people we recalled, Alex Bélanger and Justin Levasseur. I couldn’t ask for better. They did very well,” mentions the head coach of Bois BSL.

Other matches

Three other games were scheduled for the weekend. The Trois-Pistoles BA Foundations won twice in Gaspésie, 9-7 in Chandler and 3-2 against the Corsairs of Forillon.
