Borussia Dortmund is betting on the return of Jadon Sancho, reports BILD. The Englishman, who has been at odds with manager Erik ten Hag at Manchester United for months, must be involved in a ‘spectacular exchange deal’ with Donyell Malen. In that case, the Dutch international can take the opposite path.

Sancho was acquired by Manchester from Dortmund for 85 million euros in the summer of 2021. However, he was unable to make his mark with the English record champions. At the beginning of September, Ten Hag said at the press conference prior to the match against Arsenal (3-1 loss) that Sancho was not training hard enough.

The attacker then took to social media and accused the manager of lying. Sancho has refused to apologize and has since been banned from the Mancunians’ squad.

According to BILD, a return of Sancho to BVB is now a possibility. An exchange deal with Malen, who is coveted by Ten Hag, could reportedly offer a solution. The 24-year-old Dutchman recently switched to real estate agency SEG, which is seen as a clear signal by the German top club.

Agent Maikel Stevens should help Malen with a transfer to the Premier League next winter. Stevens was already involved in the transfer of Rasmus Højlund from Atalanta to United last summer and also represents the interests of Ten Hag.

BILD confirms the previous news from Sky Sport that Dortmund wants to at least recoup the thirty million euros that PSV received for the attacker in 2021 if he leaves. The idea is that Sancho will first be hired from United for six months.

The biggest stumbling block for the time being seems to be the exorbitant salary that Sancho receives from the Mancunians. The 23-time England international earns £350,000, equivalent to around €410,000, per week in Manchester. To actually realize a return to Dortmund, he must be prepared to give up a significant salary.
