Bernd Leno (31) is playing his second season at Fulham FC, the London club is currently on a roll. The “Cottagers” won the last two games against Nottingham and West Ham 5-0. Now there is good news for Leno personally.

On Tuesday evening it is official: Leno is extending his contract with Fulham early until 2027 with the option of another year – BILD reported.
His current contract runs until 2025, but those responsible are very satisfied with the former Bundesliga goalkeeper (Leverkusen, Stuttgart). Most recently, Leno made his 150th Premier League game in the spectacular 3-4 win against Liverpool at Anfield Road; he has now played 153 times in the best league in the world.
The signing comes with a hefty salary increase for Leno. Instead of the previous five million euros, his annual salary will now be around eight million euros. Leno moved from Arsenal to Fulham in the summer of 2022. At Arsenal he had to give up his regular place for Aaron Ramsdale (25), but since then there has been no consistency at the Gunners. Most recently, Ramsdale had to sit on the bench because new signing David Raya (28, came from Brentford before the season) replaced him. That’s why Ramsdale now has to worry about his European Championship ticket in the English national team.

When he said goodbye to Arsenal, Leno spoke openly about his difficult situation in SPORT BILD: “During the preparation, I realized that it’s not about performance, it’s just about politics. It was clear to me: I have to leave here.”
At Fulham, Leno has now found happiness at another club in London. His strong performances are rewarded. The keeper was recently absent from the national team due to a minor surgical procedure, but could return to national coach Julian Nagelsmann’s (36) squad in March.
