Basketball: NBA, Green of the Warriors suspended indefinitely – Basketball

Golden State Warriors’ Draymond Green has been “indefinitely suspended” following his confrontation with Phoenix’s Jusuf Nurkic, which saw him ejected for the third time this NBA season.

The American Basketball League said in a statement that Green was given the ban given his “history of repeated unsportsmanlike acts,” adding that he will be “required to meet certain league and team conditions” before he will be allowed to go back to playing.

An indefinite suspension is an almost unheard of sanction from the NBA, which more commonly issues bans for a fixed number of games. Examples of recent severe player bans include the 25-game ban handed out to Ja Morant of the Memphis Grizzlies in June after he was seen displaying a gun in an online video, and the 30-game ban given to Miles Bridges of the Charlotte Hornets for allegations of domestic violence.

Green was ejected from the Warriors’ 119-116 road loss to Phoenix on Tuesday after hitting Nurkic in the head. The four-time NBA champion then apologized to the Suns’ Bosnian, saying he had accidentally hit him.
