Basketball Cup winners Bayern Munich suffered their seventh defeat of the season in the EuroLeague at Olympiacos Piraeus. After three wins in a row, Pablo Laso’s team lost to last year’s finalists 69:77 (29:41).

After three wins in a row on the international stage, the Bayern basketball players had to admit defeat at Olympiacos Piraeus 77:69. The guests got off to a disastrous start; they didn’t find their rhythm at all offensively. Many turnovers and missed throws ensured that the home team was able to pull away.

FC Bayern basketball players slept through the first quarter

Led by Thomas Walkup, who was in a good mood, the hosts continuously pulled away and mercilessly exploited Munich’s weak start. The interim 24:8 deficit was too big a burden for the rest of the game, even if the Laso team clearly improved.

They won the three remaining quarters, it was an even match. Given the high load and the absences due to injuries, the appearance in Greece is definitely okay. In the final minutes, Bayern even crawled back up to six points, but Sylvain Francisco narrowly missed turning the game completely inside out. In the table, despite the defeat, the Munich team remains within reach of the playoffs with a record of 6:7.
