The clash of the 12th day of the Euroleague regular season pitted FC Barcelona, second in the standings, against Virtus Bologna, third. At home, the Italian team won (80-75), after making up a 12-point deficit at the break (45-33).
With 21 points, the Dane Iffe Lundberg was the No. 1 architect of Bologna’s success. Isaïa Cordinier also contributed to his team’s victory, scoring 10 points in 21 minutes of play. In the standings, Barça remains second, but is only one victory ahead of its rival.
Vitoria wins at the buzzer against Fenerbahçe
Vitoria, fifth in the Euroleague (behind Monaco, beaten Tuesday by Partizan Belgrade), defeated Fenerbahçe Istanbul (80-79), thanks to a three-point shot from American Markus Howard seven seconds from the buzzer. The latter was the best scorer of the game with 28 points.
Finally, Valencia won at home against Red Star Belgrade (85-81). The latter was 16 points behind at the break (56-40) but managed to equalize 54 seconds from the end (81-81). However, a shot from Jared Harper and free throws from Brandon Davies allowed Valencia to win. For the Spanish team, Damien Inglis played 13 minutes, without scoring a point but grabbing two rebounds and signing two interceptions.
