The Santo Domingo Children and Adolescent Prosecutor’s Office carried out two raids on Tuesday in houses in Baní, in the province of Peravia, in search of Tampa Rays player Wander Franco.
According to reports, authorities are looking for Franco who allegedly had a relationship with an underage young woman in Puerto Plata.
He was also unable to finish the last major baseball season in connection with this affair.
Around 3 p.m., vehicles were seen arriving at Franco’s maternal home in the community of Palo Blanco, Baní.
They then went to the Rays shortstop’s home in Villa Real, but the player was not found at either residence.
Neighbors of the Villa Real residence claim that authorities left telephone numbers for Franco’s wife so that the athlete could contact them.
This season, Franco has 17 home runs, 58 RBIs and 30 stolen bases. He signed a monster 11-year contract valued at $182 million at the end of November 2021.
