Austria’s National Football Team Set for Dignified EURO 2024 Base Camp in Berlin

Austria’s national football team will reside in dignified quarters during EURO 2024.

As the ÖFB announced on Thursday, the European Championship base camp of David Alaba and Co. is located in the Schlosshotel Berlin in the Grunewald district, where the German team once stayed during the 2006 home World Cup.

Training takes place on the Hertha BSC grounds, which, like the Olympic Stadium, is not far from the Schlosshotel. Arrival is planned for June 12th.

Rangnick is looking forward to “perfect conditions”

On June 17th, the ÖFB selection will play its first tournament match against France in Düsseldorf, then they will play against the play-off winners in the Berlin Olympic Stadium on June 21st and against the Netherlands on June 25th. “I am very happy that we will make Berlin our location during the EURO. The hotel is great and we will have perfect conditions in the Hertha BSC training center so that the team can prepare for the games in the best possible way,” says team boss Ralf Rangnick .

“Two of our three group games take place in Berlin. That means we don’t have to travel, we just need to take the bus to the Olympic Stadium for 20 minutes. That’s ideal,” the 65-year-old continued.

Preparations for the European Championship start at the end of May

Bernhard Neuhold, Managing Director of ÖFB Wirtschaftsbetriebe GmbH, was also pleased. “I am convinced that a highly professional and attractive set-up has been put together here. We will continue to use the next few weeks and months to align all processes so that we can start the tournament optimally prepared.”

The Austrians’ immediate preparation for the European Championship begins on May 29th in Windischgarsten. On June 3rd, the ÖFB team moves to Vienna, where a test match – probably against Serbia – will take place the next day.

Afterwards you stay in the federal capital before traveling to an away international match on June 7th – Switzerland is considered a candidate. After this game on June 8th, the ÖFB players will probably get a day or two off, after which the trip to Berlin is on the agenda.
