Atlético Nacional is already structuring its team for the 2024 season, a year in which it will seek to win a League title again, defend its Colombia Cup championship and fight in the Copa Libertadores, a tournament in which it will start from the previous phase.

Winger Edwin Torres, from Alianza Petrolera, and right back Joan Castro, who arrives from La Equidad, are the first players who will reinforce the team for 2024. Both are waiting to pass their medical exams.

“I have to change my chip, I know that I am going to arrive at an institution with good players and I know that I will have to start from scratch to earn the position. I hope I can quickly adapt to the teacher’s idea and fight,” Torres commented days ago in El VBar Caracol about his arrival.

Meanwhile, defender Cristian Zapata, youth forward Tomás Ángel, midfielder Nelson Deossa and Brazilian winger Jader Gentil will not continue with the club, the latter who was on loan from Athletico Paranaense in his country.

At just 20 years old, Ángel’s departure is one that most surprises fans. The young youth squad played 32 games during the year between the League, Copa Colombia and Copa Libertadores, registering seven goals and being eliminated in the final part of the season.
